THE ARTIST

From a very young age Débora was drawn into the world of art, where she found release for her creative energies, and explored different ways of relating to her surroundings. Throughout her life, she has been inspired by direct contact with masterworks encountered during her travels in Europe, the USA and her home country of Argentina. The exploration of contrasting environments and cultures has broadened the scope of her perceptions, adding depth and variety to her art.

She received her Fine Arts degree in 1992 from the National Academy of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón.  She taught art over 20 years, both in the community and at the University of Arts.  Particularly attracted to expressive art and interested in the sense of motion and emotion in a piece of art, her work has been influenced by the studies of many masters, such as Rodin, Kathe Kollwitz, Ilya Repin, Valentine Serov, Joaquin Sorolla, The Impressionists, the Expressionists and Abstract Expressionists.

Her art continues to evolve. An accomplished painter, sculptor, illustrator and designer, she is always finding challenge and joy in experimentation with different media. Her works have been featured in galleries, (both solo and group shows), and in private collections in Canada, the U.S., Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic.

Débora currently lives with her loved ones surrounded by nature in her shire in Southern Manitoba,  Canada.
